FAQ

What is MTFA?

We are an independent association of MaidPro franchisees. We are a registered non-profit with a goal of supporting each other as we build successful, profitable, and meaningful businesses. We are dedicated to protecting and enhancing the value and profitability of our individual franchises, and we plan to work with our franchisor toward mutual success.

Why is MTFA necessary?

A franchisee association allows us to effectively advance our shared interests. Franchisees in a chain have many interests that they share in common and most of those lend themselves quite well to collective action by member franchisees.

Why is it important to support MTFA?

A key consideration to keep in mind is that the business interests of franchisees often differ substantially from those of a franchisor. Even in the best of circumstances, each party, because it is in a different business, is pursuing different goals, using different strategies, and operating from different perspectives.

What is the biggest advantage of an independent franchise association?

Collective efforts, thoughtfully conveyed by an association, can deliver results not possible by just one independent franchisee.

Is MTFA recognized by MaidPro Franchise and Threshold Brands?

MaidPro Franchise acknowledges MTFA in their FDD as required by the Federal Trade Commission Franchise Rule. We meet regularly with the leadership of MaidPro and Threshold Brands where we share our quarterly members’ survey, our common purpose is one that is meant to enhance each of our individual businesses, as well as the performance of the entire network.

What is the cost to become a member?

Membership is $150 per quarter or $540 if paid annually. This includes access to all resources, support of basic legal and accounting fees related to a well-managed organization, and to develop new lines of support for our membership. If you wish to join our association but the financial circumstances of your business do not permit you to do so, please contact us. Membership fees are evaluated on annual basis – as our membership grows, we may be able to reduce fees.

Is the goal of MTFA to fight the battles of individual franchisees within the MaidPro Franchise?

Absolutely not. Many franchise networks have strong, independent associations which work with the franchisor on long-term projects including outreach, community building, and working towards common goals. The primary goal of our association is to help our members build the most profitable and

Is membership anonymous?

Yes—nobody except for the executive will know you are a member unless you choose to disclose that you are. We regularly host calls, workshops, and events. And, while we encourage participation, it is optional. Ultimately, we work best when we work together.

Who is on the leadership team for MTFA?

There are five leadership positions, which are elected by the members on a 12- or 18- month term. Any member in good standing is welcome to apply for a leadership role. We also have members assisting in unofficial areas of the organization, such as communication, events, and training.

Do other brands have an independent franchise association?

Yes – many franchise networks have long standing franchise associations. They become particularly valuable as the size of a franchise network grows.

Who should I speak to if I have more questions?

Please contact us here and a member of our association will reply to you shortly.

What commitment level do I need to contribute?

We can only achieve our goals through open communication with our members. We ask that our members respond to our periodic emails and surveys in a timely manner. We are currently hosting calls twice per month. In these calls, we receive the feedback necessary to build an organization of value for all its members located throughout the US & Canada. We anticipate the frequency will decrease as we further streamline our systems and processes.
